Simply Eat was created by Suzanne Lynch (Suzi). Suzanne’s passion for food was ignited at the tender age of 15 and from then on there was no going back. Suzanne channelled her passion by studying Professional Culinary Arts at Edinburgh’s Telford College and through her dedication she secured a placement at the world famous Witchery by the Castle. Suzanne then went onto gain a permanent position at the Witchery, cooking for the rich and famous in the sumptuous, Gothic treasure in Edinburgh’s Old Town. From here she rose through the ranks, honing my skills and widening my knowledge, working in several hotels across the city, including the two rosette Channing’s hotel.
By this stage Suzi was ready to jump out of the pan and into the fire and in 2005 became Head Chef at The Hub on Edinburgh’s renowned Royal Mile, managing a team of 10 chefs. In this position she developed a skill for writing menus focusing on sourcing fresh, local ingredients. The Hub is a unique venue, catering for a wide variety of events throughout the year, and is also home to the Edinburgh International Festival. During Suz’s time there shecooked for a huge variety of events from intimate artist parties to corporate event and weddings for up to 300 people, whilst simultaneously running Café Hub.
Suzi’s wealth of experience means that she is able to cater for a wide variety of needs, tastes and palettes. It does not matter if your event is for 1 or 100 people, you will always receive an excellent standard of service and most importantly excellent food. And cookery lessons are held in your own home so numbers are up to you.
The Scottish larder is fantastic we pride ourselves on sourcing local, fresh and seasonal ingredients. Our menus are exciting yet simple, mixing the classics with new and a la mode dishes. We can create a menu or dishes to suit every taste and if you have something in particular in mind then we can work with this too.
